Cost to your Business
The cost of organising a H1N1 vaccination programme in the workplace is insignificant when compared to the escalating business costs an outbreak of Swine Flu can inflict. While the vaccine is provided free by the Australian Government there is a charge for travel time, set up and vaccination*. (Costs will vary depending on the location and time of day). These charges represent a small outlay for each staff member.
By ‘treating’ your employees to the H1N1 vaccine in the workplace means you are:
• A responsible employer by managing the health of your staff
• Reducing the risk of absenteesim caused by Swine Flu outbreak
• Saving employees a visit to the GP for individual H1N1 vaccinations
• Alleviating the burden on our health system for individual vaccines
If an employee visits visit a , the cost is fully rebateable via Medicare so there are no out of pocket expenses.
*Due to state based requirements on site vaccinations are delivered by doctors in Qld and nurses in all other states and territories.
